Welling Station

Discover Welling have teamed up with Welling Station and we are planning different projects with the staff.

New Mural - Commuting Through Time

Have you seen Welling’s newest landmark? A stunning mural is transforming a blank wall near Welling Station and we need your help to finish it.
The new mural can be seen along Stephenson Close, which is the road that leads down from Welling Station on the Dartford bound side. It is the first part of the mural called ‘Commuting through Time’ created by the talented Alessandra Tortone and when the whole mural is complete, it will be around 46 metres long! It will depict a series of commuters from when the station first opened in 1895 up to the present day.

Thank you to Community Rail Network for the grant which enabled us to get the first part of the mural completed and also to Southeastern for arranging the jet washing and providing materials for painting the undercoat.

Thank you also to Welling station staff and volunteers from GoodGym Bexley, Discover Welling and Councillor Hall for painting the base layer.
We are now Crowdfunding to raise the money needed for the rest of the wall to be painted and turn it into a stunning art installation.
